Phones save the precise GPS location inside every photo by default, often accurate to a few metres. Share the original file and you may be sharing your home address, your workplace or your child's school.

This tool removes the location tags from your photos. Choose 'Location only' to wipe just the GPS data and keep harmless camera details such as exposure settings, or 'Everything' to remove all metadata.

How do I stop my phone saving location in photos?

On iPhone go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Camera and choose Never. On Android open the Camera app settings and turn off 'Location tags' or 'Save location'. Photos you already took still need cleaning.

Does WhatsApp remove location from photos?

WhatsApp strips metadata when it compresses photos sent normally, but files sent as a 'Document' keep their original EXIF and GPS data.

Can someone find my location from a photo?
