Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Enlarging can only interpolate, so it will look softer. Save as PNG for maximum quality or JPG/WebP at quality 90.
What size is an Instagram post?
1080 x 1080 px for square, 1080 x 1350 px for portrait (4:5) and 1080 x 1920 px for stories and reels.
Is the Image Resizer free?
Yes. The Image Resizer is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, no daily limits and no premium tier.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. FileStripe processes your files locally in your web browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, so the Image Resizer is safe for private photos and confidential documents and even works offline once the page has loaded.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The Image Resizer works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Samsung Internet on phones, tablets and computers. On a phone you can pick files from your photo library or files app and share the result straight to another app.
